WHEN it comes to the housing problem in the Philippines, how we wish the solutions are as clear as the problem. At a recent forum organized by The Manila Times, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) reported that the country’s backlog stood at 6.75 million units. The Manila Times housing forum, held on Sept. 10, 2020, with guests Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Commissioner Marilyn Pintor, moderator and Times columnist Kay Lugtu, Suntrust Properties president Harry Paltongan, Januarius Holdings Inc. president and CEO JJ Atencio, KMV Asia CEO Kaydee Marie Velasco, Organization for Socialized Housing and Economic Developers of the Philippines Inc. vice president Paolo Giovanni Olivares, DBP vice president Paul Lazaro, Creba national president Noel Cariño, and Times president and CEO Dante "Klink" Ang 2nd.
