The grandson of national hero Gen. Miguel Malvar passed away on Monday, September 7. A former head of the University of the Philippines (UP) Political Economy Department, Edberto Malvar Villegas, Ph.D. suffered a severe stroke while confined at the Makati Medical Center. He was Covid-19 negative.
In a statement sent to The Manila Times Entertainment, Joe Lad Santos — official spokesman of JMV Film Production, which was meant to produce the movie, “Malvar Tuloy ang Laban,” with boxing legend and Sen. Manny Pacquiao in the title role — said the Malvar clan requests for prayers at this difficult time.
