MALACANANG believed that the planned abrolgation of the Philippines’ Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) with the United Satets (US) would help bring justice for the killing of Filipino transgender woman Jennifer Laude.
Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. said the Olongapo court’s decision on US Marine Joseph Scott Pemberton’s case would have an impact on VFA, emphasizing that the death of Laude was "symbolic of the death of Philippine sovereignty."
