Listed GMA Network Inc. is offering two of its digital channels to be used for free by the Department of Education’s blended learning program. In a statement on Friday, the listed broadcasting giant said it was doing so as “part of the Kapuso Network’s efforts to help the government curb the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus disease) in the country and…provide Filipino students access to quality education while keeping them safe at home.” The channels could be used in time for the adjusted opening of classes on October 5. This comes after the network reported that its earnings climbed by 4 percent to P1.4 billion in the first half of 2020 while its revenues declined by 15 percent to P6.75 billion. GMA shares shed 1 centavo or 0.20 percent to finish at P5.05 each on Friday.
