DTI to legislators: Pass Internet Transactions bill

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Thursday expressed support for the passage of the proposed Internet Transactions Act, which its chief said would further grow electronic commerce (ecommerce) and safeguard consumers in the country.

During a hearing of the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez told lawmakers that the measure, formally known as House Bill 6122, would “support the government's role of enabling business and protecting consumers.'
