THE pre-need industry has been through peaks and valleys since its introduction into the country more than half a century ago. After decades of high times, the industry was suddenly gripped by crisis in the 1990s, which left many Filipinos, who only wished for a more secure future, paralyzed.
Until today, this harrowing history of the industry continues to affect its image among prospective investors and savers. Nevertheless, lessons have been learned, and reforms are continuously being made and implemented to revitalize this industry and continue helping many Filipinos prepare for the future.
