The coronavirus pandemic not only triggered a massive public health crisis, it also battered the global economy and international trade, leaving millions without jobs and raising concerns on food security.

The Philippines was also hit hard as businesses shut down. However, the agriculture sector proved to be resilient as the Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with local government units and business sectors, found ways to help farmers and fishermen to sustain their livelihood and at the same time ensure stable food supply.
