AUTHORITIES recorded two fatalities and more than 100 persons injured following the strong earthquake on Tuesday in the province of Masbate that also left almost 600 buildings damaged.

The first fatality was identified as Gilbert Sauro, a retired police colonel, whose three-story house in Cataingan collapsed to the ground after the 6.6-magnitude quake. Authorities are yet to disclose how many persons were with the victim when his residence totally collapsed.
