Awards of recognition in the time of pandemic

Giving tribute to individuals or groups for exemplary achievements in culture, the arts, the sciences or public service has taken a back seat in the case of the Ramon Magsaysay Awards — reputedly Asia’s equivalent of the Nobel Prize — to the coronavirus pandemic.
