TWO of the most wanted drug suspects in Central Visayas were shot dead after resisting arrest in Barangay Tungkop, Minglanilla town, south Cebu at dawn on Thursday, authorities said.
One slain suspect was identified as a 68-year-old resident of Barangay Looc, Dumanjug town, south Cebu named Basilio Nilo Quirante, who is the alleged leader of the Quirante Drug and Gun-for-hire syndicate, a level-one personality on the illegal drug list of President Duterte and, therefore, a high-value target in Central Visayas. The other perpetrator was Faustino Torres, a purported member of the Quirante syndicate.
