THE Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival’s first virtual Award Program on Wednesday saw “Tokwifi” as this year’s big winner.

“Tokwifi” (Star, pronounced “tok-wee-fee”) — a story about a 1950s mestiza star, trapped inside a television that fell from the sky and dreams up a romantic romp with a Bontok Igorot man who does not know how to kiss — took home the coveted Best Film award, as well as the Netpac Jury Prize in this year's edition.
