Weather, MECQ may delay LSI send-off

THE send-off of 5,000 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) may be delayed due to the inclement weather and the imposition of the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), officials of concerned government agencies told lawmakers on Monday.

“With regards to the time frame, we cannot really assure if we could finish everything by month of August, considering the weather condition also,” said Presidential Management Staff Assistant Secretary Joseph Encabo, the lead convenor of the Hatid Tulong Program, during a hearing of the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
