The Philippine mining industry has raised P402 million from its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) to help combat the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic in the country, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) reported.
In a statement over the weekend, the DENR said mining firms have pooled together the remaining funds for their respective SDMP to assist their host and neighboring communities during the community quarantine imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19.
