MALACAÑANG on Monday maintained that Charter change (Cha-cha) is not a priority amid the fresh push to amend the Constitution by local chief executives.
“Linggu-linggo nakikipag-usap naman po ang Pangulo (Rodrigo Duterte) sa ating taumbayan at hindi po lumulutang ang Charter change bilang isang prayoridad (The President speaks to the public weekly and Charter change has not emerged as a priority),” Palace spokesman Harry Roque Jr. said on Tuesday, days after the League of Municipalities of the Philippines submitted a resolution to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) pushing Cha-cha.
