BECAUSE the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has desisted from calling to account or questioning the University of the Philippines (UP) OCTA Research about its forecasting on the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) situation in the Philippines, we raise questions here today about the group and its much-publicized forecasts.

We do this out of public concern because the forecasts cause more and more anxiety, even as they remain bereft of scientific basis.
