PCC resumes review of mergers, issues guidelines

The Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) has issued guidelines on the resumption of regular merger review operations beginning July 16 amid the general community quarantine (GCQ) imposed on Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

In a statement on Friday, the anticompetition body said that in its Commission Resolution 18-2020, it adopted the interim guidelines on the operations of its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) office during GCQ and its modified form for the notification and review of M&As; payment and collection of filing fees; and investigation of M&As for violations of Republic Act 10667, or the “Philippine Competition Act.”
