Public health experts have urged North Korea to disclose information about the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) there, saying that hiding details only complicates global concerted efforts to fight the pandemic.

“The North Korean regime refused to officially acknowledge any positive Covid-19 cases in the country, a clear falsehood,” a health advocate based in Southeast Asia said. The official declined to be identified for fear of reprisal from North Korea.
