LAST Wednesday, July 8, Mayor Josefina Belmonte of Quezon City made the headlines when she publicly announced that she had tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), much like the 54,000 among her countrymen who have tested positive and are now counted among the country’s many confirmed cases.
