BACOLOD CITY: A two- month-old male baby became one of the latest patients infected with coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Negros Occidental as the province breached the 100-mark on Thursday. Charina Magallanes-Tan, spokesman for the Negros Occidental Covid-19 Incident Command Center, said the baby from Moises Padilla town is asymptomatic. The baby and his mother arrived in Negros Occidental on an AirAsia flight from Manila on June 21, and they are both quarantined at the Provincial Healing Center in EB Magalona town, Tan added. She said the baby’s mother was still waiting for her reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test result. A report by the Department of Health in Western Visayas said as of July 2, Negros Occidental had 13 more locally stranded individuals (LSIs) testing positive.
