THE Northern Police District (NPD) on Friday announced the arrest of at least 53 individuals, including an 81-year-old man, and two women for holding an illegal cockfight or “tupada” in Valenzuela City.

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Ylagan, NPD director, said the arrest was made following text complaints and telephone calls received by Lt. Col. Giovanni Caliao, First District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) chief, from concerned citizens over the illegal gambling activity along Lamesa Street, Barangay Ugong.
