The country’s tourism industry contributed 12.7 percent to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) last year, an improvement from the 12.3 percent recorded in 2018.

A report from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed that tourism direct gross value added (TDGVA) of P2.48 trillion last year was 10.8-percent higher than the P2.24 trillion in 2018.
