Politics clouds Abra’s battle vs coronavirus

BAGUIO CITY: Abra province’s fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) seems to have rekindled intense political rivalry that the province is known for.

On the perennial political divide are the Seareses, who own the Dr. Petronillo V. Seares Sr. Memorial Hospital, the oldest private-run health facility in the province established on March 16, 1974; and the Bernoses led by Abra Gov. Ma. Jocelyn Bernos, with son in tow, capital town Bangued Mayor Joaquin Enrico Bernos.
