BACOLOD CITY: Five alleged communist rebels were killed in an early morning encounter with troopers of the Philippine Army in Sitio Talingting, Barangay Luyang, Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
The encounter happened after government forces received a report from the village officials and concerned residents about the presence of a wanted personality, who was with the group of armed men occupying two houses at Sitio Talingting.
