Dear PAO,

During his lifetime, my late father married twice. First, with my mother in 1990, and second, with another woman in 1998. Unfortunately, the first marriage was not registered because of the alleged negligence of the priest who solemnized their marriage. This was also the reason why my father was able to contract a second marriage. On the other hand, the second marriage was evidenced by a marriage contract. My mother wants to prove that they were legally married so that the second marriage be declared void and also to inherit the properties left by my deceased father. Was the first marriage valid? How can she prove it?
