BARMM hires new midwives

MARAWI CITY: The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) hired 73 community midwives from Maguindanao province and 10 others from regional offices. They will be assigned as village midwives.

“One of our goals is to equip our Barangay Health Stations with complete facilities, each of which will be assigned a midwife,” according to BARMM Minister of Health Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan who led the oath-taking ceremony of the new set of midwives on Tuesday in Cotabato City. The members of Midwife in Every Community in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MECA 1) of the defunct ARMM were the first to get regular employment status. Simultaneously, 38 midwives from the province of Basilan and the City of Lamitan also took their oaths.
