CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City: The military overran a communist rebel camp in the mountains of Surigao del Sur after a six-day running gun battle, killing 11 rebels, the military reported Thursday.Capt. Al Anthony B. Pueblas, chief of the army’s Public Affairs Division here, said that the gun battle started Tuesday dawn on May 14, 2020 until May 19, 2020 capturing the large rebel camp that could accommodate 120 people. He said that the military were in hot pursuit of four top ranking NPA rebels of the Northeastern Mindanao Revolutionary Committee (NEMRC) believed to be hauled in the Andap Valley Complex in Surigao Del Sur.
