MAKING MGen. Debold Sinas, the Metro Manila police chief, take a leave while he is being investigated will bring back the people’s trust in the Philippine National Police (PNP).

There should be no ifs and buts about it: Sinas should be temporarily “neutralized,” to use police parlance.
