EastWest profit rises to P2.3B in first 3 months

EAST West Banking Corp. (EastWest) reported a double-digit growth in net income for the first three months of the year despite high loan loss provisioning.

In a statement on Monday, the Gotianun-led lender said it netted P2.3 billion in the first quarter of 2020, a 75-percent surge from the P1.3 billion posted in the same period a year ago.
