NEW CLARK CITY, Capas: The Tarlac Quarantine Facility in Athletes’ Village at New Clark City (NCC) is now ready to accommodate probable cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), particularly health care workers. Gov. Susan Yap said the facility would boost the fight against the virus and give Tarlac health care workers who would possibly be infected with it the comfort they need in their 14-day quarantine period. Tarlac will use Building A of the Athletes’ Village, which can house about 260 probable cases. “We have a medical team composed of a doctor, nurse and nursing attendant in charge of regularly monitoring the patients,” Yap said. The use of NCC Athletes’ Village as exclusive quarantine facility for probable cases in the provinces of Tarlac and Pampanga was realized after a series of meetings between local officials and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority. The NCC’s National Government Administrative Center has been transformed into a We Heal as One Center that will cater to confirmed Covid-19 cases with mild or no symptoms. It has 688 beds, but can expand up to 1,000.
