THE Taguig City government started to give financial aid to drivers of motorcycle ride-hailing app Angkas who were displaced by the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine due to coronavirus pandemic. The local government said more than 1,800 Angkas drivers received their P4,000-cash assistance in a bid to ease their financial burden amid the lockdown extension. “This will cover each family’s additional necessities amid the Covid-19 pandemic and is apart from the food packs distributed by the local government to Taguig families,” it said. The city government said the distribution was done in batches with strict observance of proper physical distancing to ensure the safety of the drivers.
