The local unit of Standard Chartered Bank announced that it had donated P12.5 million for coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) relief efforts in the country. In a statement on Tuesday, the lender said its donation was coursed through the fundraising platform of Bayanihan Musikahan, an online concert fundraiser led by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, which features performances of renowned Filipino artists to benefit Covid-19 relief efforts. This donation, it added, would provide 10,000 food packs through Caritas Manila and Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Pamilya ng Pantawid benefiting the most vulnerable communities in Luzon. The first round of relief distribution started last weekend, with the delivery of over 5,000 packs of vegetables from Benguet to beneficiary-families in the cities of Manila, Makati, Pasay, Quezon, Navotas and Pasig; and the towns of Taytay, San Mateo and Rodriguez (specifically San Isidro village) and Antipolo City in Rizal province.
