The Philam Group announced on Tuesday that it would provide P1.5 billion worth of free compassionate benefit coverage to the medical frontliners of its partner-hospitals. In a statement, Philam said a P50,000 benefit coverage would be extended to 30,000 medical frontliners — to be coursed through its corporate social responsibility affiliate, Philam Foundation’s Frontliners Inclusive Risk Safety neT (FIRST) Initiative. The initial list of hospitals that have enlisted their frontliners for the coverage include designated Covid-19 treatment hospitals in Metro Manila, led by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine as well as hospitals from different areas and affiliations nationwide. “More hospitals will be added to the list to complete the coverage for 30,000 frontliners,” Philam said.
