THE Ateneo de Manila University, in close coordination with the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health (ASMPH), has delivered the first 100 pieces of hazardous material (hazmat) suits to The Medical City on April 7. The specifications of the Hazmat suit design came from ASMPH Dean Dr. Cenon Alfonso M.D. and produced by Marie Alexene Cabantac and Dennie Tan Ruiz, using a fabric called Taslan 80 gsm, which makes the suits reusable after proper decontamination. The Society of Jesus Philippine Province along with other donors funded the production of 1,500 pieces of the said suits, which are instrumental in ensuring the safety of health workers who undertake life-saving procedures amid the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) outbreak.
