THE municipal government of Maitum recently inaugurated the child development center funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development through the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. Situated in the remote sitio (enclave) of Blete in Barangay Batian, the P .8-million center would cater to indigenous T’boli children in upland Sarangani near Lake Sebu, South Cotabato. The tribal childen were also given starters kits, which included basic school supplies.
