Had it not been for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic, the country’s oldest and premier maritime institution, the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), would be celebrating its 200th founding anniversary. The feeling of honor and prestige will double among its cadets, and its alumni will once again troop back to their alma mater to commemorate milestones and memories.
