THE government has earmarked P5 billion for the social amelioration program for formal workers affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic in the country, a Cabinet official announced on Tuesday.

In a virtual press briefing, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexei Nograles said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on Monday night the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DoLE) proposed social amelioration programs for the formal workers' sector.
