POWER plant projects in the pipeline are still on track for completion amid the enhanced community quarantine imposed on Luzon, the Alsons Power Group assured in a statement on Wednesday. Alsons is building a 14.5-megawatt (MW) run-of-river hydroelectric power plant at the Siguil River basin in Maasim town, Sarangani province. It is also developing, through San Ramon Power Inc. (SRPI), a 105-MW baseload coal-fired power plant in Zamboanga City. “Even with the current enhanced quarantine, we do not foresee a major delay in the targeted commencement of operations for our Siguil and SRPI projects,” Alsons Executive Vice President Tirso Santillan Jr. said in the statement.
