The Regional Trial Courts of Calamba, Laguna are scheduled for disinfection after a judge and a prosecutor tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019. This was confirmed by Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra in a text message that “the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office has already taken appropriate measures.” Department of Justice prosecutor general Ben Malcontento said in an interview that he ordered the transfer of the duty of all the prosecutors in Calamba and Sta. Cruz, Laguna to San Pablo City. Malcontento said this would assure the public health and safety of the prosecutors doing the preliminary inquest of cases for the crimes committed in flagrante delicto or caught in the act. The Supreme Court, through the Office of the Court Administrator, has already ordered a lockdown of the area. A contract tracing is being conducted among persons, who had recent interactions with the judge and the prosecutor.
