SMC steps up safety measures, highlights hand-washing

IT’S business-as-usual for San Miguel Corporation (SMC), but with enhanced safety measures. The conglomerate has implemented various work protocols in light of the spread of the Covid-19 virus. It has also taken extra steps to help ensure that employees and guests at its sprawling Ortigas complex and other major offices in Metro Manila, are safe.

Recently, it installed hand-washing stations at all entrances of its main offices. Prior to entering SMC offices, people are asked to wash their hands, apply hand sanitizers, and undergo temperature checks. All hand-wash units come complete with water, soap, and towels and are operated using foot pedals to avoid cross-contamination. The company added that it adopted and invested on the measure not just for safety but to inculcate in people’s minds the importance of hand-washing in curbing the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
