The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) fell by 7.92 percent or 458.57 points to close at 5,335.37 — the lowest since Oct. 1, 2012 — on the first trading day after the month-long community quarantine was imposed on Metro Manila amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) spread in the country.

Likewise, the wider All Shares dropped 221.85 points or 6.35 percent to close at 3,271.79.
