‘Project Destination’ tackles indigenous culture, social values and traditions

As the exponent of Filipino arts and culture, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has delved into TV series production to reach a wider audience without being preachy or sounding like giving a lecture on the indigenous people way of life.

“Iba kasi ang nagagawa ng teleserye. Habang nae-entertain ang audience, may lessons silang napupulot at nae-enlighten sila sa tunay na traditions ng indigenous people’s groups. In this case, we stick to the trueness of their culture, not to dramatize situations just for the sake of it, na usual na ginagawa ng commercial productions,” NCCA Public Affairs and Information head Rene Napeñas told The Manila Times Entertainment at the launch of the show on March 3.
