There is no evidence that cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) could taper off during summer because of the heat, a World Health Organization (WHO) representative to the Philippines said on Monday.

“We are seeing continuing transmission in very tropical countries like Singapore [and] Malaysia. And so, the evidence we have at this point in time is not supportive”, Rabindra Abeyasinghe said during a press briefing.
