Four government troops and 14 members of the terrorist Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) were killed in armed encounters in Maguindanao last March 2, the military said in a belated report on Saturday.

Two of the soldiers were identified as Pfc. Dexter Jay Hierro and Pfc. Willy Tingson, both members of the Army’s 57th Infantry Battalion, according to Western Mindanao Command (WesMinCom) chief Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana.
