Nearly P25 million in illegal drugs was recently seized by authorities in La Trinidad, Benguet, with 40 alleged drug suspects arrested by police and anti-narcotics agents. Netted in separate operations in La Trinidad and other parts of Benguet was a total of P23.4 million in prohibited substances. In Zamboanga City, a Grade 11 high school female student of a local public secondary institution was arrested on Monday by policemen during an anti-illegal drug operation at Barangay Rio Hondo. Police Station 10 commander Capt. Albin Cabayacruz identified the suspect as Saima Salihuddin Aliudin, 18, a native of Barangay Kalinggalan Kalyan in Jolo, Sulu. Cabayacruz said Aliudin would be charged for violating Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
