The Energy Development Corp. (EDC) is to directly remit financial benefits to host communities in Ormoc City and the municipality of Kananga in Leyte for accommodating its geothermal power plant.

In a statement on Monday, the Lopez-led company said it recently signed a memorandum of agreement with its beneficiaries to establish trust accounts for the local government’s access to the accrued monies from Energy Regulations 1-94 (ER 1-94) Program.
