THE Philippines’ trade deficit narrowed to a two-year low in 2019 after the gap in December alone fell to its lowest in six months, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

Data from the statistics agency showed on Tuesday that the country’s trade balance last year resulted in a $37.04-billion shortfall, down 14.89 percent from the $43.53 billion posted in 2018.
