Like any youngster his age, Rodrigo del Rosario’s dream was sports. By reason of his small frame, his choice was athletics. He wanted to be a sprinter.

What was his biggest asset — speed —then, turned out to be his liability, though. The young kid of Cabangan town in Zambales, turned to weightlifting instead, a sport he never imagined he will excel.
