Chastine grew up in Tacloban City, Leyte. A proud “Waray-Waray,” she started working at the age of 19 as a remote software engineer for JBHunt, a transportation company based in Arkansas, USA. She soon moved to Adchemy, the ad tech startup that allowed her to migrate to the United States.
