REAR Admiral Giovanni Carlo Bacordo has been named as the next flag officer-in-command of the Philippine Navy.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed Bacordo's appointment paper addressed to Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Friday and Bacordo’s designation would take effect on Monday, February 3, when Vice Admiral Robert Empedrad hangs his uniform after reaching the mandatory age of retirement in the military.
