Sixty eight years after his death inside the Capas Concentration Camp, a victim of the infamous Death March from Bataan to Tarlac and 78 years after gifting the country an unprecedented back-to-back third place Olympic Games finishes, Teofilo Yldefonso was inducted to the International Swimming Hall of Fame.

That made the member of the Philippine Scout from Piddig, Ilocos Norte, the first and only Filipino amateur athlete, thus far, to be accorded the honor by an International Sports Federation.
